Paradigm framing
The preprint operates within the dominant paradigm of transplant immunology, which recognizes chronic antibody-mediated rejection (cABMR) as a significant factor in liver transplant outcomes.
Highlights
This research refines the existing understanding of cABMR by providing a detailed molecular characterization. It identifies specific gene expression patterns associated with cABMR, distinguishing it from other rejection phenotypes. This work contributes to the body of knowledge within the established paradigm, but does not challenge or seek to replace it. Thus, it's classified as "Normal Science" within Kuhn's framework. While the study expands our knowledge of cABMR, it does not represent a "Paradigm Shift" as it does not fundamentally alter the existing theoretical framework of transplant rejection. It focuses on deepening the understanding within the current paradigm.
